How to connect AirStudio S1 to a camera

What you need

  • AirStudio S1
  • RX Plus
  • RX-to-Cold Shoe Adapter
  • 3.5 mm TRS audio cable
  • Camera with 3.5 mm microphone input

Steps

  1. Mount RX Plus on the camera using the RX-to-Cold Shoe Adapter.
  2. Connect RX Plus to the camera’s microphone input using the 3.5 mm TRS cable.
  3. Pair AirStudio S1 with RX Plus.
  4. Set the camera’s audio input level if needed.
  5. Start recording video on the camera.

Why use RX Plus

RX Plus sends AirStudio S1 audio directly into the camera, so the voice is recorded onto the video file. This reduces the need for clapping, syncing, or aligning separate audio in post-production.

Important note

The RX-to-Cold Shoe Adapter is for physical mounting only. It does not use the camera hot shoe for power or data.
